to smooth out the shifts in the car? I'm talking strictly about the notchy feel feel when switching gears.
Some kind of transmission fluid might help possibly or anything that anyone can suggest?

I got the rogue short throw shifter and it helped a bit.

It's probably more to do with the clutch, than the fluid. If you have a heavier duty clutch, more in line with performance, than comfort, it will be clunky. You'll just have to learn how to smooth it out with rev matching, etc.

I feel your pain. This annoys me to. It seems to switch gears the smoothest when it is somewhat cooler outside and the tranny is warmed up. So far i have found the only solution is to take your time.... but even then it will probably still do this. so, i want some answers to!!!
This is a good thread. I think a lot of us could use the info.

When I switched to Amsoil's GL-4, it smoothed out a lot more than using Nissan's gear oil. Rev matching as said helps too. Less notchy on cold mornings too with Amsoil's stuff. Running their 'severe gear' GL-5 product in the rear diff as well. Will never go back to Nissan's stuff.
I don't really seem to have this problem...
As far as a "notchy" feeling, I like to know when I've engaged a gear rather than the rubbery feeling of something like a BMW 330ci for example
