Are stillens intake+catback hp gains accurate?
Are stillens intake+catback hp gains accurate?
I looked on the stillen website and they claim that their CAI+z-tube gain 11.5hp and their full catback gains 22hp. These are for the 2003 g35 sedan. Are these numbers accurate? they seem kinda high.. thanx guys
no. it's bs, really. You will not make +30hp with those two bolt-ons. I, or anyone else, can't give you an exact increase...you will need to do a before/after dyno with your car.
I see that is your first post. You should search on this site and my350z.com for modifications to our cars. There are plenty of sticky's with peoples comments/reviews about modifications. Take a few hours and read through them. Here is a good place to start:
www.motordyne.com
search for motordyne too. Tony makes some amazing and proven parts for our cars. Get the plenum spacer first, best bang for the buck mod out there. If your car is an 05+ 6MT then you should look into the MREV also.

yea this is my first post but i know a good amount about the g35 and know that NA mods don't tend to do that much for these car, thats y i was asking about stillen since those numbers seemed pretty damn high.

Most manufactures numbers are inflated unless they are from independent testing... in all cases performance success is a combinations of mods (not just 1 or 2) and will vary with every car... to get the most out of breather mods a tune is advantageous and in many cases without a tune the car may lose performance.
When it’s all said and done - to mod a G it’s an avg of $100 per hp - no joke. A plenum spacer might be about the only exception, but having only a spacer probably won’t satisfy most performance enthusiasts.
Happy modding!
