Rev Light

OK, I searched using "Rev Light" and still dont see a clear answer to the question I have.. I have an 06 6MT and the REV light has always been on, same color as the gauges (orange) - I read everyone saying that their REV light blinks at the set RPM... The light that blinks on my car is the actual shift light under the REV light.. (blinks in red)... My question: is the REV light "ALWAYS" supposed to be on???

Thanks!!

Read the manual. It will tell you how to set it. It shouldn't always be on.

well thats 2 different answers...... "on" or "off"?? I've read the manual forwards, backwards, even upside down and I see nothing on how to turn off the REV light.... I do see how to set the "rev limiter" but that only messes with the shift light....

OK, The letters REV are always on.

The light below the letter REV should NOT always be on, only when you hit the particular RPM that you set.

I think the default is 6500. You can change it to what ever you want and when you hit that RPM you set, the light below the letters REV will flash.

That's exactly what I wanted to know... Thanks!

Yeah, I know how to set the shift light that only appears at the desired setting...

His question was whether or not the orange "REV" letters are supposed to be on.... not the red shift indicator

The REV is there to give you an idea where to look for the shift light, thats all. I know it can be easy to over think things sometimes.
