Re: New Mods!!!
What's the funniest is that people have coined this phrase "twin turbo", with the word twin always in the phrase, without understanding the requirements of, and the reasoning behind why our engines need "twin" turbos, why a single turbo (again, on our engines) is NOT the hottest idea (while on other engines it is the ONLY feasible way to go - even though those engines may even be more powerful than ours).
Yep, there is nothing worse or more devalueing than people throwing money at something just for show. And it is not about "damn rich folks"... Rich has nothign to do with that... You can be knowledgeable and have appreciation for these things whether or not you can pay for the mods out of pocket or on credit card... Just read about it (mods, TT, SC, etc.), i say, find out what it really does and how, you will only enjoy it better, not to mention, be safer...
Not saying that that is what necessarily happening here, but just a thought...

Re: New Mods!!!
I assume that was for me.
Now use YOUR great powers of intellect and IN FACT read the last line of my last post (preceding my name). I found this thread, at the prompt of others that posted here before me, to be an opportunity to express my opinion on modding in general, one that I have sadly observed a few times. You can believe me or not, it's up to you.
Also, if you had that intellect and had read any of my posts you would know of my contributions to this community. Someone who was interested in twin-turbos would have done research on them and would not spend the money for what I assume was at least 5-8 hours of labor and $600+ headers that have been confirmed over and over on the forums to yield no more than 0-4 horsepower. Also, if they had known 2% of what is to be known about forced induction, they would know the principle under which turbos operate, and that they are more than a "cool" word to utter in the same sentence as "my car".
Also, so that you don't completely lose your credibility on these forums in the minds of people you really know what they are talking about, I would really stay away from saying that I have an undisciplined mind and that I bitch. If you think that my intellect, contribution, and reasoning are in question, you should really read some of my posts, and really read the presnt post before you respond. SC8 did not know what he was talking about and WE (not just I) all called him on it. Instead of bitching about the tone of my posts, you should give some thought to it's substance (as well as that of the other posters on this thread).

Re: New Mods!!!
If you invested any time, thought or let alone $$$ into a turbo system you would never buy headers. They would just be replaced w/ exhaust manifolds that were specifically designed for forced induction when you upgraded to the turbo. Hence the reason why this post is b/s or sc8 wasted alot of $$$ for not researching what he was getting into.

Re: New Mods!!!
Why such thin skin, everybody...? It's just another unfortunate, costly, newbie mistake.
SC8 committed a few easily avoidable errors: He erred in having headers installed to prepare for a twin turbo set-up. He failed to detect this error. He compounded the fault by proudly proclaiming the fact on a public forum. That is worth a chuckle or two. Not necessarily because he did a bonehead stunt, but maybe because we're so glad we did not do what he did!
Forget the twin turbos, SC8, unless you are willing to eat the installed price of your headers. To come out of this whole thing smelling like a rose, you could have a supercharger installed now, instead. A supercharger installation will not supercede your header installation. You could also install a nitrous oxide system... but for now, I'd suggest you stay with your headers for a while, until you understand the relative merit of each choice better. Good luck, and don't go away mad.
