P0011 and P0012, too much timing advance!? HELP

Hey Guys,

My check engine light came on yesterday. I took it to my local mechanic and he scanned it.

3 codes showed up, the two that I remember are P0011 and P0012. He said that both banks were showing too much timing advance. The third code also had something to do with the amount of advance.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yesterday I got my oil changed at a local garage (I supplied my own Amsoil), and I had them mix in a can of Restore since my miles are getting higher. The guy might have over filled it by a few ounces, but that's all I can think of. I mention this because some people with P0011/P0012 codes have low oil, but I'm not sure if both codes, something seemingly rare, can come on bc of a little too much oil.

My garage said it could be the cam position sensors or the timing chain.

I am taking it into the dealership toimorrow morning.

Any suggestions are welcome.

P0011 and P0012 are cam position sensors. It could be timing chains. Most people get it when they adjust the cam timing too far from normal.
