Well I just put in some new hoses. Three to be exact. One from the coolant reservoir, 1 really fat hose and 1 long hose going from the left of the engine to the right. (Don't know the names of them)

When I started to drive the car today, the engine temp gauge read literally at the H.

We leaked some coolant while switching the hoses and a buddy of mine said that it wouldn't matter too much...

I don't know what could be wrong. We refilled the coolant reservoir because while trying to find the problem we unscrewed the radiator cap and it spewed out a bunch of coolant.

Any help/advice would be great guys!!!!

There is air in your system. You need to bleed it. Search for a DIY on here somewhere.

 

there's a bleed screw at the back of the engine compartment on the passenger side. crack it open and fill your radiator till it comes out of the bleeder. close everything up and start the car. repeat process. I had to do this a couple of times to get all the trapped air out.

 

^^^^^^ hes right you have air pockets. start the car let it get up to temp/ over heat and then shut the car off. With out coolant flow the heat will eventually convect through the motor thus opening the thermostat. After it opens check coolant level after cooldown. While the motor is running you can tell if the thermostat is open buy feeling the lower radiator hose (in comparison to the upper hose). Both hoses will get hard until the thermostat opens.

 

Infiniti gave us (gf's 03 Sedan) a hard time with the same problem. First two times they couldn't find anything wrong. The following week after overheating a third time we paid for a radiator and thermostat. 6 months later they are telling us now that we have to pay for a new engine after having the car for more than two months.

I hope the bleed works for you...it didn't for us.
