I was thinking about getting the popcharger + z tube, but i am currently rethinking if i should go with that or the nismo gen II cai?? I wonder in terms of performance which one would be better? Can somebody with a high knowledge about this topic tell me? Thank You.
Theres probably alot more ppl in this forum with the pop charger + z tube and would like the favor their own intake system over anything else. I dont want any bias comments please. however i would welcome anybody to share their real honest opinions. THank You.
I was thinkin maybe i should go nismo because:
1. it looks cooler under the hood
2. its nismo and nismo make good parts for nissan/infiniti cars
3. the popcharger claims to give 6.5 hp gains at the wheels and the ztube claims to give 4-6 rwhp gains. So theoretically the combination should give 10.5-12.5 rwhp gains. But i dont think this has ever been dyno-proven
=) Please share your thoughts.

I currently have the JWT/Popcharger combo. I have a Nismo CAI on order.
Here's why:
1) Nismo is a Nissan sanctioned division (department, subsidiary, whatever) and they are the default product I now look to for any mod.
2) The Nismo puts the filter where air is cooler.
3) The Nismo has been designed and tested by engineers (not gear heads in their garage with a dyno) and these engineers know a little about resonance, sound waves, torque curves, etc. Thus, I trust that they've actually considered the effects of a longer tube in the front and how it will effect the torque curve.
4) It's going to look better with my black Crawford plenum, if I ever get it.
This pop charger alone will not give you 6.5 and neither will the Z tube, and you can't just add them up. Both of them together may theoretically give you 5 hp, but there's more to consider, like the length of the tube, the shape of the filter, the temp differences at different speeds, etc.
What you're not going to like to hear is that no one has done any real scientific comparison testing on these products so I would just go with whatever you can afford, and will like to look at afterwards. You're talking about 1-3 HP differences here, which are just a speck.

I'm not sure of the Nismo CAI, but I am disappointed with the PC+Z combo. The dynos that I did on 2 separate days (not specifically for the Pop-Charger, and my 0-60 runs on a G-Timer showed disappointing results over a simple Z-Tube/ K&N Panel/ Stock Box combo.

The other good thing about the Nismo CAI versus others is its got a bypass value that will stop water from reaching the engine unless of course you submerge your car high enough into a pool of water

Why ain't people use Nismo CAi then? The price for z tube + pop is almost the same as Nismo CAi? Does the Nismo Cai has any negative point? like... cutting the A/C line, hard to clean up? I am in the same boat as Gaaaar. Do not know which combio is better.

The only bad thing about the Nismo CAI is the gas efficiency. I can't seem to keep my foot off the pedal to listen to the nice slurping noise it makes for air
