ATTN: Drag Racers

Re: ATTN: Drag Racers
Thanks guys... yes, it is very useful for that purpose as well -- but don't forget, you do not have VDC/ABS when the switch is open, so be careful while running in "stealth mode". Actually, the funny thing is, that I didn't realize this benefit of the switch until afterwards, I did it to deactivate the brake LSD feature.

Re: ATTN: Drag Racers
Gurgen,
Do you get the slip/VDC/brake light all on at the same time when you flip the switch? It won't go off for me until I reboot the ecu....key off, then on.
03 Sedan ~ 5AT ~ aero ~ 19x8" Axis wheels ~ Garnet ~ premium ~ NISMO body kit ~ clear front corners ~ Stillen Cat-back ~ Injen CAI ~ Crawford plenum soon (shipped!)

Re: ATTN: Drag Racers
Gurgen...I have one of these too, but I don't think it restores the 30% at all and I also still feel like I am bogging some times if I brake torque off the line...
I am still reading through this post, but PM me if you would
like to discuss more, b/c I know I would. Thanks.
EDIT:
I just read the whole post and I am now more confused...is VDC, IYHO, better or worse for our cars to launch at the drag strip...which is all I am concerned with of course. ;-)
IMHO, my best launches have come from little to no wheel spin and a 1500 RPM launch...I am hoping that with the Nitto Drag Radials I will be able to brake torque more, but only if I know I am not losing 30% of the power to VDC/ABS or what ever the Christ the Nissan donkey put into our cars to rob us of all the power. (Did you see my recent post on what the new Corvette can do with VDC???)

So for fleeing and eluding police there's only one solution where you can run in stealth mode and have every available hp hit the ground.

This is good stuff! LOL... BTW, I've dragged the G 4 or 5 different days (maybe 10-20 runs) and have "accidentally" left my 2004.5 6MT VDC on. My times all sucked with the VDC on. Taking it off helped tremendously. (Just adding more merit to gurgen's comments, as if they needed any merrit).

Re: ATTN: Drag Racers
OK, i prolly confused the snot out of a lot of people. I think I meant "VDC off is good for launches". Brake LSD, in theory is supposed to help you launch more uniformly, like an LSD would. It's BS imo, as it accomplished this (i.e. stability) at the expense of overall power you put down to the ground.
I haven't used this switch in a long time. When I get a scanner i will do a test to see if the timing is in fact pulled by the ECU without the brake fuse vs. with the brake fuse. But given how busy I am with the rest of the car, make sure to bug me about it so that i do not forget.
If you want to discuss this more, PM me or smth (or leave your phone number and i will call you sometime if you have any more questions).

So... if that's true, what if instead of an ON/OFF switch, you made a momentary switch to briefly open the circuit. This way the system will completely deactivate VDC/TCS/ABS until you restart your car. But since it's momentary, your brake lights will still work?
If you have the switch, maybe you can test this by flipping the switch closed after VDC/TCS/ABS have been disabled, and then test to see if your brake lights now work. It'd be interesting, and good solution for those of us that want the ease of truely 'switching' the safety systems off (instead of going through the hood fuse), but don't want to sacrifice the brake lights.
