They WANT to replace your engine.

clearly you know better than us... but i thought they get paid a lot less for warranty labor than they would otherwise... which would mean they would rather use those man-hours to do something else??

Most tech's usually have no problem staying late to finish jobs.... dealers will do every job they possibly can to be able to get more work done.

More work is more work... better warranty hours than none, right?

Good question....

Why was I overfilled at start of official OC testing? Why did a different dealer I chose later, top me off back to 'full' behind my back before official OC test reading on a OC test return?

Sounds like your dealership doesn't play games. That's good to hear and it should be that way with all dealers, but unfortunately it's not.

I'll continue in general to all below....

I've read many stories of other dealers playing games around this issue and many that haven't over the years. Some are mod friendly, some not when it involves this issue, etc.

All I know is what two separate dealers did to me in trying not to qualify my VQ for warranty replacement; with a TSB released to a known OC issue...

Actually I do know two reasons why some do play games as I learned later and made perfect sense

PM me for what I learned. Too long to explain here

for the record, I have had my engine replaced under warranty for oil consump.

HAHAHA THAT ARENT THINKING YOU WILL BE ADDING OIL, THEY DONT WANT YOU TO TAKE OIL OUT....THEREFORE YOU COULD GET A BRAND NEW ENGINE EVEN IF YOU WERENT BURNING OIL.

think, some people have no street smarts at all

I did too finally. I played their game smarter than them while using what the TSB stated and watching them like a hawk the next time I returned

some people have no reading comprehension skills.......

we all know they dont want us taking oil out... but my/our concern is that tying the dipstick down prevents me from checking to see if they put extra in to avoid replacing the motor

Why don't you just ask to be present and have them pour the oil into the measuring container and then you watch them pour it in.

Quite frankly, if you don't request to be present everytime they remove the oil as well...you're just going to have to take their word for it.

go to the nearest dealership that actually wants the business...sounds like some dont.

I'm going thru the OC test now. I brought it in for my second visit and they said it was 8mm down after 1000 mls and in the bad zone. They said it would take up to 5 visits to get what they needed to send to Infiniti. I checked the oil level after I left and they did'nt overfill it and no twist ties on the dipstick. So far so good, we'll see what the next visit brings.
