Lower Gas Mileage Perhaps?

I think I have been noticing lower gas mileage. I use the manumatic mode and shift no higher than 2.5k RPM. I noticed a slight change after cleaning my JWT pop charger. I used the Oxyclean/club soda method. I'm wondering if not oiling up the filter enough could cause me to slightly diminish gas mileage. I was trying not to overdo it since it can damage the MAF sensor and I generaly tend to overdo things. Just curious if this is a possibility.
