Have squeaking noises at cold starts before and after belt changes..

mine has actually subsided. I went under the car once more to see if I could tighten it up and if there was anything else I could do to fix it. Once the weather dried up and did a bit more tightening, it seemed to have stop. I'll get a little random squeel (quiet) at a light or something, but other than that, it's good. I may just have them changed at my next service though.

My 05 started making sqeak at 40k. I've been thinking of changing it too.
If you guys want to change the belts, the link below may be helpful.

Welp, finally sucked it up and went to the stealership to have it looked at. The squeel was getting out of hand and even more embarrasing. Ended up having to replace the pulleys and both belts and all is well. It was a pretty pricey bill, but I did get other things done. Just happy that crap is gone and I can drive the car without fearing red lights and parking lots

just remembered my mechanic brushed the pulleys and cleaned them off ..
on an old buick regal i had .. made the squealing go away ..
try cleaning the pulleys..
or check if its coming from alternator or other ..

Last thing you want to do is put ANY pil on the belts. Any oil on the belts makes the belts squeel.
It cost me around 400-500 (with labor) to replace all pulleys and belts back in February and everything is still good. haven't heard a peep out of the belts/pulleys since then. It was the first time the belts were changed for 60k. The pulleys were worn and needed to be changed as well. I still hear a bit of that "metal ball bearing" sound around 3k rpms once in a while, but goes away after engine warms up
