Oil change advice?

I have a '08 G35 sedan and am coming up on my 3rd oil change at 11,250 miles. The first 2 changes were done by the dealer for free and now I'm on my own. I was thinking of going to synthetic oil and doing it myself. Can anyone tell me if its difficult to, first do the oil changes and second... what brand of oil is good. I also wanted to know if I should stick w/ the OEM oil filters or go w/ aftermarket. So far I've decided to go w/ the Valvoline SynPower oil and a K&N oil filter...any comments would be appreciated.

Any name brand oil filter will be fine. An example that seems to be popular is amsoil. I am planning on switching to synthetic soon but from what I have heard valvoline, penzoil, mobil 1, etc. are all great oils. Changing the oil should not be hard either. Check out some online videos for a DIY. Hope that helps some..

Easy DIY and good to know it's done right. Amsoil 5W-30 and Wix or Amsoil filter is all I use.

Make sure to pre-fill the oil filter first! Esp. turbo'd apps.

I just had mine changed. I put Valvoline Full Synthetic in it, and my car seems to love it. Synthetic is definately the ONLY way to go. It is a lot better for your motor, etc. If you end up going synthetic, don't switch back and forth.

What does the Lucas do for the synthetic oil? Is it a must have or just another thing.

DO NOT USE LUCAS.

Search the net for more interesting information regarding Lucas.

Holy Crap! I would have never guessed. I've personally never added any additives to my oil and never would, but that's just interesting.
