Re: SERVICE ENGINE SOON after exhaust and cats install

Thanks for the heads up gurgen, I owe you a drink. I'll keep that in mind when TS comes out with their 2004 ECU reflash. I wish they'd hurry up!!

I wasn't aware they offered such a device (the Techtom), but if it's in the mid hundreds I'd say that's a small price for that sort of info.

Re: SERVICE ENGINE SOON after exhaust and cats install

So, here's the verdict...went to dealership yesterday and I was up front with them and told them about the mods and they ran a diagnos for free and told me my driver side cat O2 sensor was inop. Replacement cost through Inifiniti is $150! Looking elsewhere for better price. There has to be a crashed G somewhere that someone is parting out!

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

yep, that's what I thought. BTW, it is not hurting the engine, so you can take your time on it (sort of). The FSM says that the output from the d-side (#1) o2 sensor is used, if it's inop, it switches to #2 (p-side).

Found something for you. These guys have a crashed G:

Gurgen, you are truely the man! I called that place and the guy thinks he has the sensor for $45. Do you know if the sedan and the coupe share the same O2 sensors? He has a sedan there. I have a coupe. He's gonna get back to me on this. Thanks again bro...good lookin' out!

Re: SERVICE ENGINE SOON after exhaust and cats install

Awesome, glad it helped. I would almost bet my life on it (well, ok not really) that they are the same. But a real easy way to find out is to call an infiniti dealer and ask for the standard Nissan Part numbers. while you are at it, check if the d- and p- side sensors have diff part numbers (as the harnesses may be different - on the off-chance that they send you the other one from what they promise).

Also, keep in mind that these sensors are very sensitive, os ask them to wrap it up very carefully in bubble wrap for shipping.

Glad I could help
