eibach or tein springs

Anyone has any knowledge or experience with these springs? I am looking for springs that allows the car to handle better. I don't really care about lowering the ride height. Out of these 2, which one will handle better and whys there such a large price difference?

Re: eibach or tein springs

Based on that you want, I would recommend 3 choices. Everyone of them are springs ment for the 350Z

Keep in mind that good springs are only part of your of the handling package. The oem shocks will only be able to dish out so much as our desire to improve handling goes up.

Your oem spring rates are 314/342

1. 350Z RSR down springs .6" drop front&rear
spring rates 345/417 (increase over stock) F+10% R+22%
Transfers +12% roll stiffness to the rear
$215 shipped if you mention seeing vendors post on my350z.com www.gruppe-s.com

2. 350Z Tein H-tech .3" drop front .02" drop rear
spring rates 358/375 (increase over stock)F+14% R+11%
Transfers +3% to front
I see them on ebay for $155 shipped regulary

3. 350Z Tein S-Tech .7" drop front
spring rates 386/402 (increase over stock) F+23% R+16%
Transfers +7% to front
$155 shipped if you mention seeing vendors post on my350z.com www.gruppe-s.com

Now take a look at the specs for the Tein coupe springs, notice the mild rate increase in the front and the decrease in rear spring rates. Based on what you want out of your car, the Z based springs are a better choice

Tein H-tech G35 coupe .6" front .3" rear
spring rates 324/260 (vs stock) F+ 5% R-22%
Transfers +27% to front

Tein S-tech G35 coupe 1.2" front .9" rear
spirng rates 358/274 (vs stock) R+14% R-18%
Transfers +32% to front

Here are Eibach rates for comparison, notice the difference in rates between coupe and Z eibach rates.

350Z 1"front 1"rear 296/384 front 316/421 rear
G35C 1"front 1"rear 229/337 front 274/463 rear

Re: eibach or tein springs

so u are saying that we should order the Z tein spring
rather then G tein spring?
will the Z spring fit no problem?
y they make it different?
what is the drop that we don't need to buy a camber adjustable arm?

Re: eibach or tein springs

g35sedan,

are you sure about those numbers? because at gruppes and everythingg35.com they state that Tien S-Techs drop the G35 1.5" all around and H-Techs drop 1" all around.

hey also, how do you look at the spring rates? i mean is it better if the numbers are higher? can you explain how spring rates work?

thanks

Re: eibach or tein springs

I have the S-Techs since last Sept. a month after I got my car. Drop 1.2" front and .9" rear the ride on surface streets is not bumpy but a different story on the fwy. You will need to get it aligned and have a camber kit on the rear if you want it back to factory specs. I'm not sure if anyone makes a camber kit for the front. I don't have any camber kit at all I just told the shop to put it as close to stock camber as possible. Anyways here is a pic after the install. Goodluck on your choice.

Thats cool. Looks like you painted your brake pads blue like your car.

Re: eibach or tein springs

It seems that every website has a different inch drop and +/- gains. To my knowelge, even though most websites have different numbers, they are relatively closs to each other. so there isnt any noticable difference.

Re: eibach or tein springs

Take a look at the following website. It explains the spring rates. Basically, higher numbers mean a stiffer ride.
