Anyone know exactly what they did to the 2005 6mt coupes to get +15HP? If not, then any educated guesses?

 

Probably put in the a less restrictive intake like the Z tube or something and maybe tinkered with the ECU maps a little but. I dunno and that's just my guess.

I'm just hoping that they didn't get the +15HP by advancing the timing. That would suck for people who want to go with forced induction.

I'm anxiously awaiting the new parts CD's with the 05 models so I can see the part differences between the 03-04 and 05 models. I'm hoping it's something mechanical, rather than electrical.

My nickel's on:


1) Revised Plenum - possibly only thing they change ECU Nothwithstanding - time to break away from the Z a bit
2) or ECU/timing modifications only.

I doubt exhaust will change much and the intake rocks now apparently; 2-3 hp is not worth add'l noise a an entry-lux car should have.

My guess would be that they watched the aftermarket and took notice of the hot buttons...Plenum and Ztube being the most obvious.

That would be sweet if it was a revised Plenum. Then those of us who haven't went Crawford or Kinetix could just put on the new Infiniti Plenum!

The ECU alone won't make 15 horses off of our cars imo. I think that the Z-tube and a newly designed plenum and some small tweaking to the ecu(for the additional air) would be most likely. But we'll never. =P
