CF Engine Cover Rubbing Air Inlet Duct
CF Engine Cover Rubbing Air Inlet Duct
My new 350Z carbon fiber engine cover is rubbing the front air duct that funnels air to the intake - what should I do? Does anyone else with this engine cover have the same problem?
Also - (off topic) Does anyone know how to remove super glue? It was the only thing I could find to attach my Infiniti logo off of my old engine cover to the new one and it left a residue in a few places - I just don't want to mess it up worse using something I shouldn't to remove it...

Re: CF Engine Cover Rubbing Air Inlet Duct
I have that same setup... Mine only really rubs in one small area.. I used a small piece of thin foam tape.. worked great and barely noticeable. As far as the super glue removal... humm can't help you there..maybe try Goof Off..

Re: CF Engine Cover Rubbing Air Inlet Duct
Yeh, Goo-B-Gone or something similar might work. You know who will know for sure? The Superglue manufacturer's help/questions/hotline. Just be sure to tell them what it's on and if it's clear-coated so they can suggest something that might not damage your cf engine cover.
On another note: If you find something that removes the superglue really well, you might thing about stripping that emblem off and re-attaching it with some of the double-sided 3M body tape that's used to attach body/aero pieces. That Superglue is known to get brittle when it gets hot. Don't want that emblem falling off while you're driving.
