I dunno if anyone has ever boosted an X. How much power can the transfer case take? I don't think you want to be the one to find out on your DD.

Hell, Motor Trend got a 13.5@105mph out of the G37 sedan automatic. Then you can add HFCs and maybe some sort of tuner and pick up another 15 to 20whp.

To do forced induction the right way, you'll need about $10K and you'll still have drivability quirks.

You could also add some typical bolt-ons to the X, but you'll only be looking at a 15-20whp gain for around $2K.

Or the cheapest option is just to accept the fact that there will always be someone quicker.
+1. Get the 09 sedan and that is it.
Handling will be the same with just properly adjusted coilovers and tires.

Why bother?

If you really want to mess with his head, buy an old Vega or Pinto and drop a mildly built small block in it. For a couple grand, you will be able to BLOW his doors off! Just think how BMW guy will feel... Just don't race him in anything other than a straight line.

Or you can trade in your 08 35x and get a e92 sedan, quick and still have four doors

I saw that car run at Firebird before Pinks made it famous. It has a 468 big block and if I recall, it was running in the 9 second range- without nitrous!

Why? it's an old car to begin with and it isn't all that great. Plus old German cars are nothing but trouble they are expensive to maintain.

i think, give the sedan to the wife...and save up for a project car
nothing worse than a significant other, complaining ofr rattling, worrying about long trips and stiff ride of a modded-car. NO FUN! and u wondering how ur TURBO is doing, if its burning oil, why the air/fuel gauge is pulsating, or i can't get traction in this biatch!!, and the list can go on...LOL..

i second the trading in idea for the 09, if you got a few $$$ to spare...

older cars = cool, but its not like having all the bells n whistles of new cars...lol.
a 12-13second civic, modded is still thumbsdown to a 13-14sec G.

the e46, feels weird when i drove it...touchy, but i do still debate whether i shoulda spend the extra $$$ n got it...but i love my G,

spray it..... along with intake exhaust, test pipes, pulley, and get some type of fuel management.....

my 03 coupe with basically all bolt ons has beaten plenty of M3s, dont recall really losing to any of the 3 or 4 I have encountered. However a buddy had a 03 m3 chipped and he would pull 3 cars or so , his seemed to be some type of factory freek tho
