Recently I noticed an odd noise coming from the engine bay. I don't know if this is normal for the G and I just realized it or if it is abnormal. I have included a link to a video I posted on YouTube of the sound. It's not easy to tell on camera until I go under the vehicle with the camera.

It sounds like it is coming from under the engine or somewhere around it. Any thoughts, inputs, etc as to what it could be or what it is would be much appreciated.

If video doesn't work, try this link.

Your you tube link doesn't seem to work. However I had a knocking sound from my car under hood which may be what you're hearing. It was a faulty fuel damper that was replaced and corrected the low pitched knocking/thumping sound.

It should work now, I think it was still being processed by YouTube. Did you take it to the dealer to get it taken care of? Would it be under warranty?

I really hate to say this but it sounds like valve clatter up top and rod knock underneath.Do you have any oil in the motor.

Yes, I put new oil in about two months ago. I started noticing this about 2 weeks ago. Would what you mentioned be covered under warranty? Also, it doesn't do it all the time. This morning it didn't do it, but I'm wondering if it is because the engine was cold. I'll keep an eye on when it starts to do it.

I have had issues with two local dealerships. Long story short, they blamed my MD plenum spacer and coolant control valve for engine coolant leaking when it a clamp on the throttle body that was not in the proper place. I'll be taking it to another dealership, but I don't want to have to go through the same situation where they blame aftermarket parts when it's not because of it, but rather they use it as an excuse so they don't have to do anything.

I don't hear anything on top of the motor, that is just your belts. On the bottom it sort of sounds like knock, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just your belts. Have you ever replaced them? I would go replace them and see if it still happens.

Yeah, on the top its difficult to hear the sound (same as the one you hear from the bottom). I did replace my AC belt. Apparently it was gone when I had taken it to the dealer a few weeks ago. i can't recall if it made the sound prior to installing the new belt or if it did before as well.

What abou the belt would cause it to make a knocking sound?
