Here are the possibilities, from the Field Service Manual:

Fuel pressure regulator system
Evaporative emission system
Positive crankcase ventilation system
Incorrect idle speed adjustment
Air leakage from air duct (Mass air flow sensor — electric throttle control actuator)
Electric throttle control actuator
Air leakage from intake manifold/Collector/Gasket
Electric throttle control actuator
Throttle position sensor circuit
Accelerator pedal position sensor circuit
ECM
Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit
Refrigerant pressure sensor circuit
Air conditioner circuit

I would take to a Nissan dealer who will have a CONZULT-II diagnostic computer and can run through the necessary tests to figure it out. These cars are mostly mechanically and electrically the same as the 350Z. If needed, you can download the FSM and hand to a competent mechanic.

You really want to test the electrical resistance of the engine coolant sensor. From the FSM (for 2004, but should be the same):

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Check resistance between engine coolant temperature sensor
terminals 1 and 2. (Place sensor in water of various temps as in table below)
Engine coolant temperature °C (°F) | Voltage* V | Resistance kΩ
20 (68) | 3.5 | 2.1 - 2.9
50 (122) | 2.2 | 0.68 - 1.00
90 (194) | 0.9 | 0.236 - 0.260
*: This data is reference value and is measured between ECM terminal 73
(Engine coolant temperature sensor) and ground.

2. If NG, replace engine coolant temperature sensor.

just checked thermostat. and i think it is always open... i think that is why my engine temp is too low...

just ordered new thermostat and will be replacing. do you guys think that this would solve the low rpm problem??

No, like the previous member suggested take your car to a Nissan dealership. There's no connection between thermostat and your idle issues....

Yeah like gary c said there is not connection between thermostat and your rps issue

try resting your computer by disconnecting the battery for 24 hours before you take it to the dealer.

it looks like with A/C on rpm's are about ~650. but without A/C it drops to ~400

That's too low. Did you try the idle air learning procedure? Did you take to a Nissan Dealer and have them hook up a CONSULT device to it?

I had a similar problem after installing a plenum spacer where the RPM's would start normal then drop down too low and then eventually the engine would die while idling. The throttle body may have been jarred at that time coupled with a dirty throttle body and caused the malfunction. ECU reset by itself did not resolve the issue. SOLUTION - throttle body was cleaned and ECU reset and the car ran perfectly since that time.

so i took my car to make electronic diagnosis, and guess what. everything works fine, rpm, temp and so on... it seems, that cluster needles are showing everything wrong.. what can i do? buy new cluster?

what about odometer? if i'll change cluster there will be other numbers?

so yours had nothing wrong with the engine? I am having a similar problem but mine stalls sometimes on idle once decelerating after working the engine pretty good. the RPMs drop precipitously and then stall.

yours is fine then?

everything is fine. lke i said, just the needles are showing everything wrong...
they are showing little too low engine temp
250~ rpm low
10kmph speed to fast when i'm driving
and a little to much of gas... (ran out of gas once when i when the cluster gauge showed not empty tank..)
