Does 06 6MT Skyline 350 gt has the same issue as G35 (Oil Consumption issue)

First of all, hi to all members of this forum . New here and very excited for my Skyline (G35) which arrive tomorrow .

Before anyone ask, its an Ivory Pearl 2006 6MT Skyline 350gt (which i understand is = to G35 in the US). Imported it all the way from Japan with 12 k miles on the clock for roughly $US 22k with everything JDM and stock.

Now for my question. As stated on the topic, does Nissan Skyline 350 GT manufactured directly in Japan has the same issues as INFINITI G35 (Especially the dreaded OC issues)? I know that they're both essentially the same car, but i read somewhere which stated that they're not exactly the same. Usually stuff made in Japan are always of better quality then those manufactured abroad (at least in my country anyway). Been researching alot about G35 on this site for at least 2 weeks now but can't seem to find that topic. . Any Skyline 350GT owners with the same (G35) issues?? any help appreciated.

Ummm... G35 IS made in Japan. I would think you'd be prone to the same potential problems.

Yup...Imported all the way from Japan..low millage + cool options ..plus i thought since Nissan/Infiniti solution for the OC issues was to replace the engine with the improve hand-made engine in Japan...i thought i'd stand a better chance not getting those issues as the 350gt's manufactured there anyway....anyone knows how to identify this new engine?? oh well...hope im one of those lucky ones...will post Pics as soon as i got them..(if im not to busy enjoying it of course...)...

by the way...is it confirm that G35 is manufactured in Japan as well..thought Nissan/Infiniti have manufacturing plants in Euro and US for their cars as well..

Don't believe me?? When a VIN starts with J, it's made in Japan. All Infiniti I believe are made in Japan. Nissan has production in US and other parts of the world. VIN is key.

Its true, the G35 and Skyline are made in Japan at the same facility as the GTR. Only manufacturing facility in the world.

can you check your redline? is it 6600 or 6800rpm redline?

i believe JDM spec 350gt are all running 280hp only the older non rev up engines due to some regulations about limit of 280hp a few years ago same with the WRX and evo previously.

OP might be from Australia.
From what i've seen, Australia never got the V35s so they have to import them directly from Japan.

i think mine is not 6800rpm...maybe 6600 or 6700..not sure cause it seems to be in between them..is 6800rpm the Rev-up version?? i thought it was 7000rpm? The max rpm is 8000 though..
