Strange situation in neutral
I was trying to solve the clicking I am hearing from the rear of my G. I had the rear jacked up (wheels mounted but off the ground) with the right axle removed. The car had been sitting so it was cold. I started the car while in neutral and let it idle. At idle, IN NEUTRAL, the rear left tire was rotating. If I pressed the clutch to the floor the wheel stopped rotating. In first gear it was rotating a little bit faster and continued to speed up when I gave it gas like normal. But, is it normal to have the wheel spinning like that while in neutral???????
Thanks,
Aaron

There is some internal drag inside the transmission, even in neutral it will spin the wheels when there is no resistance (car lifted) There isn't nearly enough to cause anything to happen when car is on ground.
I don't know if you know, but there is a TSB for the clicking noise. If car is still under warranty get it done at dealer.
