Knock sensor code

Knock sensor code

I start the car and you can rev the engine once. After that the car idels at 1,000 rpms. code shows a knock sensoe problem. Where is the knock sensor located.

The first thing one does is download, read and study the Factory Service Manual for vehicle. The thousands of pages show 99.9%.
Knock sensors are always bolt to engine block where they can HEAR the spark knock optimally. Usually under plenum on V type engines.

If an engine is ever allowed to overheat KS are usually damaged due to plastic body cracking or melting................eventually they just fail from age and heat stress.
