Camshafts and Vavle Springs

Im looking to buy some brian crower cams and with the stage 3 cams you need valve springs and retainers. I was wondering how difficult it is to replace the valve springs and cams. If it looks to be too hard ill just go with the stage 2 cams.

JWT makes a tool to replace the valve springs on the engine while it's in the car... (I think it's JWT)

Replacing cams and/or springs is a big job... I'm not sure I would want a G35 to be my first cam swap...

Yeah, you might want to think twice about doing this yourself since it changes the dynamics of your engine, therefore requiring you to change your timing.

BTW changing the springs isn't the hard part (although it is an involved process), it's getting the right bucket shims so the valvetrain doesn't tick like crazy.

I bought a spare engine and had it built... Then later swapped it into the car...

As a general rule, you should upgrade springs while installing most camshafts. It's a challenging job for sure...not easy. We usually remove the whole front of the car, for easier access, but still expect about 18hrs at most shops. Unless you are really experienced, trying this at home is not advisable. If this was an Evo or a Honda....go for it.
