Search, Grasshopper. Many many threads on this.

Consensus is the top 3 are probably Amsoil (my personal choice), German Castrol and Mobil1. However, if you change oil and filter every 3000, it doesn't really matter.

Just got a case (6 qts of Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w30) at BJ's wholesale for $35.99 - $10 instant off (with coupon) = $25.99

Damn cheap for 6 quarts. Walmart sells 5 quart jugs for $26.

I run Castrol Conventional ever since i was 16.

I've never jumped on the Synthetic motor oils. I've never quite bought into the fact that it's that much better

I'm in Granada Hills and 10w30 is good for out here. If you ever move to a state that has below freezing weather, switch to 5w30.

Change it every 3k miles and it doesn't matter what oil you use. I use mobil 1 every 7500 miles. If you want to go more than 10k miles you may want to use the higher end oils mentioned above.
