hard stop safety feature?
ok so i have an interesting issue, wondering if anyone knows about this. it seems to happen most when my cars cold. if im driving and stop moderately hard, it seems to go into neutral. when i take my foot off the brake it doesnt roll forward, and when i step on the gas it revs up like in neutral, then pops back into gear. no warning lights or anything.
it seems almost like a safety feature to put it in neutral if your stopping hard, but it mainly happens when cold.
any ideas?

Not a safety thing... sounds to me like the tranny isn't in good shape. Maybe not downshifting quick enough or something? Never good when it revs up a little before grabbing and going.
Have you always had it in drive when it happens? What about when you come to your stop and flip it into manual mode... then will it accel normally? Try doing your stop in manual mode and let the car downshift on its own, then how does it accel?

actually, its always in manual mode. i almost never use drive lol
its usually had time to make up its mind.
i remember once when i had only had the car a few weeks i was driving down a parking lot (noone there so somewhat spirited- say 35 mph). as i was going, some guy shot out of a hidden driveway paying no attention(and his car stalled in the lot) and i had to slam on my brakes. he finally moved out of the way, and when i went to go was the first time that i felt it. its not like a "im trying to grab im trying to grab" kinda thing, it felt more like a neutral drop. it decided and was in gear. (ive never done a n-drop in the g, just felt in other ppls cars btw). it mainly seems to do it when cold though
