supporting mods for FI

I'm wondering what are some good supporting mods (for motor only-NOT drivetrain) if you are going FI (TN kit) on a completely stock motor (revup)? All I can really think of is an exhaust system and plenum spacer (is this even worth it for FI?). I just want to get everything ready before I tune (using UTEC BTW). I'm talking about some simple bolt ons that have a good $$ to HP ratio with FI. Not looking to spend huge bucks on top of the FI already, but if there is some moderately priced mods (< $300)that will certainly help my hp numbers I'm definitely interested. Thanks.

He said he's going with a TN kit.

OP, do some research, and have everything professionally installed and tuned. Talk to your tuner and take his advice (don't just listen to him)..

for under 300, a spacer is about all you can get for FI mods. If you have a super low budget, the whole FI game is probably not for you.

haha sorry man. I have one lined up already. Can't afford the twins just yet. Good luck on the sale.

I have the funds in case something goes wrong, just no money for many more mods to just go crazy with the car. Everyone says the boost will be addicting and I don't doubt them. I'll just work on my self control for now and be happy with around 350 reliable whp. I'm just looking for some easy bolt ons that shouldn't be looked over that can eek out some nice hp when installed with FI. Also getting it all now and tuned at once will save me some benjamins also. Every bit counts for me as I'm on noones trust fund.

Am really just looking for any experienced FI guys that can just tell me any advice for simple power parts that they know now then before. It's hard to search for a specific question at times.

Test pipes, dual exhaust, plenum spacer would really help you out.

do you mean true duals? like from the headers? or do you just mean an aftermarket system with bigger piping?

AT or 6MT?

You will need at least a true dual exhaust and you should get test pipes. That would be straight pipes from the turbo outlet pipe.

Plenum spacer
Bost controller
Injectors
Fuel return kit
Good exhaust
Test Pipes

Also:
Wider wheels, tires and good brakes for sure. Sway bars and coilvers are also a good idea.

Tim, OT but did you have a spacer when you were just TT and no built motor? Did you put it on before or after the turbos? I just wanna know how much of a difference it made for you power wise.

If he is going ST I wouldn't do true Dual
Got to fabricate a reverse Y pipe then.

thanks for this input guys. I'll definitely be doing plenum spacer and injectors. Boost controller would be a no no right now. I'll just be running the turbenotics kit at around 7psi to be safe. I don't want test pipes as I heard they leave a fuel rich smell around your car. The cat back system will be later on when money is saved up for a good system. Or a custom shop maybe can run some 3" pipe for me for less change. Fuel return line is on the extreme side for me right now and I'll just be working with a 255 walbro pump. Any more advice is welcome.

If you are not going to do test pipes look in to high flow cats.

You get used to the smell. It really is not bad at all.
