also in what ways could the ztube improve performance, I know it's louder. my car has 58k miles will this tube give my engine longer life or will this shorten the life of my engine I also noticed many members going back to stock g tube
I havent noticed anyone going back to a G tube unless they are trying to sell the car back. The Z tube will have no effect on engine life if it did it wouldnt be the stock tube on the Z which has the same engine underpinnings as the G. The only difference between a Z and G tube are the Z tube doesnt have resonator chambers which are just big boxes off the tube to lower the intake noise. Buy it without fear and enjoy the sound.
From a G-Tube to Z-Tube with stock airbox, the sound does not seem as muffled, and at higher RPM's I feel a bit more pull. A Ztube has 1 bend were as the G-Tube has 2 + the 2 resonators.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Lets keep things in perspective here ~
A handful have tried it both ways and there are differences in the way the car responds to the G and Z-tubes. Either way, there's no power to be gained or lost. If you want more induction noise above 4000rpms, go with the Z-tube. If you want a quieter, more-thrust like sensation, stick with the G-tube. If it were me, I'd spend the money first on the RevUp airbox.
As DaveB mentions, different cars for whatever reason do tend to respond differently. I have a 6MT and the z-tube gave me a great increase in throttle response. Noise... can't tell it's there until I'm way up in the 4000+ range. I would highly recommend the upgrade. Some had problems with the A/C line so take the necessary precautions.
I really only had a problem with the A/C line when I had a Popcharger on the z tube. With the stock Rev-Up airbox there is enough clearance. Guess you should make sure in any case, though.
