5 quarts for diff and gear?

So I took my car (04 6mt) to a local shop the other day, and left it there for diff and gear fluid change. They said they used 75w90 which from what I read on the forums is okay. It was Motul 1 btw, and I heard that was good too. Anyway, I ended up paying for 5 quarts as shown by the invoice or receipt. This is the part that puzzles me because I read somewhere we only need 1.5 quarts, then I read 3.5 quarts but never have I heard 5 quarts for just gear fluid. Unless, they meant the 5 quarts was split between the diff AND gear fluid.

Can someone clarify how many quarts we need for diff, then how much for gear?

1.5 quarts for diff. Did they do your manual trans too, maybe? It takes just over 3 qts (6.1 pts). Did they use the same stuff for both?

Thanks for the super fast reply. Yea, they did the manual trans, or at least that was what we agreed on. However, the invoice just says 5 liters of 75w90 motul 1 oil which I paid for, so really, I have to call them tmr and asked what they actually changed....so yes, I am assuming they used the same stuff for both.

so if it were a change for the diff, gear, and manual trans, 5 quarts is about right? And using 75w90 for all would be okay too?
