Hi,

I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan and i have a problem starting the car. When i go to start it the engine sputters for about 6 seconds and dies, when i try to start it again it comes on no problem. This has been happening for a few days. When the problem first started happening the engine use to sputter and then start but now it dies on the first try and then starts on the second try. Also it seems to only happens on cold starts like when i go to drive it for the first time in the morning or if i haven't driven it for a few hours. I just recently got it serviced last month. If anyone could give me some ideas on what it could be i would appreciate it. Thanks.

 

Did the service include disconnecting the battery for some reason? Could be the same problem some of the folks on the board had after battery replacement.

 

No I was there, they didn't disconnect the battery at all.

 

Easy thing first, go to your local auto store and have them check your battery to see if it is dying.

 

Check engine light?
If so have the codes looked at.

Could be a ton of different things.

 

I don't think its the battery because when i drive frequently in the day and stop from place to place it starts fine. Only when i don't drive it for a few hours or start it first thing in the morning is when it has trouble starting.

Still I will get the battery checked tommorrow to be sure. Thanks for the reply.

 

My check engine light was on before this problem started happening but i still got it diagnosed today at my local auto store said this is the error code they got

P0447-Evap Cannister Vent Control Valve

They said i would need to leave the car for about 2-3 hours for them to check it more thoroughly to pinpoint the issue. I told them i would have to bing it back on my daf off since i had to go back to work.

Does anyone know what the error code means, and if there is a website i can go to get more info on this code?
