So I have been trying to get my new gauges in and other little things today and ran out of time. I just had to go down the street to get some things so I was driving without my gauges then all the sudden I come out of my neighborhood and give it gas but nothing it feels like it is idling so I pull over turn it off and try to turn it back on but nothing it is dead. Anyone please help I remember seeing a thread about it but I really dont remember nor can i find it. I hope this is something dumb please help!

Check all your easy sensors under the hood. Could be dirt or just loose??

I know what's wrong. I had the exact problem, pretty common among G's...

It's your Throttle Positioning Sensor, which detects your throttle position and sends a signal to the chamber to "give gas". I got my replaced at the dealer for $600. You might be able to get the parts and do it your self for chaper, if you know how..

Dude.... what?

You paid $600 for a TPS?

Local mechanics will be able to do this for under $150, Buddies lexus had one go (I know not the same car) the sensor cost $65 and they charged him an hours labor...

But you can't pin point it exactly to that, it could be a handful of other sensors that aren't working.

TPS sounds like what you are probably experiencing. It is a common thing.

ya but I didn't know what's wrong.. and my car wasn't moving so I had it towed to the dealership. I know I coulda gotton it for cheaper but I didn't wanna tow it out of the dealership again.. lol and I will still have to pay for the diagnostic fee of 100+. 600 was including parts too, I think the TPS it self is already 150ish... anyways at least I got my car back the next morning, I just really needed the car

these cars dont use a throttle position sensor like old mechanical cable-to-gas pedal systems.

the entire electronic throttle body assembly would need to be replaced.

dealer would charge your for:

part
labor for install
labor for calibration

pluged the ecu in today. 10 errors

Looks so far like the MAF had a nice oil build up and battery was draining very quickly. I feel the alternator is taking a dive and pulling from the battery a lot.

Will update when I get back from japan and have some time
