there is a "non-serviceable" fuel sock attached to the fuel pump which acts as a fuel filter.

Correct, but most cars (that I have worked on) have a sock and a filter.

guess i need to try the seafoam... im havin kinda same problem after my motor swap but mine is more low end and once i get above 3k rpms its good.... also if i just cruise at bout 67mph i can feel a slight miss every now and then....
