Exhaust question.

Don't worry, this isn't a question about what exhaust to choose. I already have that done. lol. I'm looking for answers/opinions about headers. I've heard claims ranging from 2 hp gain, all the way up to 14 hp gain. Can anyone tell me whether or not it really makes a difference or if they've noticed a difference? I already have the Stillen exhaust with the HF cats. I'm looking to possibly complete it with headers if it really is going to make a difference. Thanks.

Headers will make a difference, but you will lose some low end and gain in the upper end.

To make full use of headers you really need a tune to take advantage of them.

i remember seeing in a magazine awhile back that to get the most performance out of aftermarket headers you need to pair them with test pipes or high flow cats. tuning never hurts either

no to get the best performace out of headers for our cars you need to pair them up with cams and then a tune.

Tomei headers are the best, but will run you $1500 installed. The rest just forget about it they are not worth it.

opinion or fact?

btw, if you can get ANY decent cams for $1500 installed thats a bargain!

GabeD has a dyno to prove some good gains over the strup ones he had. And the 1500 was for the headers alone, Tomei headers to be exact.

how does dynoing higher than strup make them the best?

As for the pricing - I was thought you were referring to the cams as 1500.

I'm familiar with cam/header combo (see my garage – or look up my thread about cams & headers)... however, your claim that "Tomei are the best" isn’t justified just because they dyno higher than Strup... any decent headers are going to dyno higher than strup and dc.
