My AC compressor started bleeding GREEN !!!!
I'm in the middle of my body kit install and today I started the car for the first time in a few weeks. After it ran for about 10 minutes it started making a high pressure surging sound. I noticed green fluid dripping from under the car next to the left front tire. After I shut the car off and started looking, I thought it was anti freeze but I couldn't find any busted hoses. Come to find out it was coming from a little "relief valve" on the AC compressor. So then I'm thinking it is freon oil. Does anyone know what the F just happened. Is it anti freeze or freon, and can I replace the little valve or is it going to be a compressor change?
If it smells like hot antifreeze... well, it is antifreeze. I can recognize that smell from a mile! About the compressor, some shops put a dye together with the oil and the coolant to detect leaks. Usually you only be able to see it with a black light... Check your hoses man!
Its probably the OIL inside the anti-freeze which can come off green. Freon itself will turn into a gas when it comes into contact with the air.
If it is your AC lines leaking, its most likely the high pressure side. If you have an aftermarket intake you have to watch where the z-tube meets the intake filter. Often times it will rub a hole in that AC line if it touches at all.

I'm sure
I saw the fluid coming out of the compressor. I'm sure of that. I know that you are supposed to have a black light to see the dye but I've never heard of anti freeze coming out of the compressor. Maybe the dye is visible when it isn't being vaporized. I don't know.
I think that OEM fluid has green in it. I've seen the same color before. Its not the same neon as the coolant.
However, you do have the radiator right there by the AC compressor. You can easily tell if its coolant though, by smell.
