Sell your car or replace the motor with a newer model. There isn't a fix for this problem. And you'll never get Infiniti to acknowledge or admit to the problem.

 

My mechanic and I have recently discovered that my 2007 G35x sedan also has this startup noise issue, and very much appreciate the posts from Mike005 and others. I see the comments that suggest that Infiniti/Nissan will never acknowledge or deal with the issue, and my car is well out of warranty at this point.

My two questions if anyone is still paying attention to this thread: (1) is this problem going to cause a breakdown of the engine, or is it simply a matter of putting up with the noise for as long as I own the car? (2) Has anyone sold a car with this issue, and if so, how did that go, what sort of explanation was given to the buyer, and how much less (if any) than Edmunds or Blue Book values did your car go for as a result?
