Cold Start Rattle 1-2s long
Hello, I have seen others with this problem and I really just do not know what is the best course of action. Recently when my car sat for a week (not a lot of reason to drive right now), I started it up and after a second or two of it turning over I heard a 1-2 second long rattling noise. I found that this only happens on cold starts. I made sure my oil level was good (it was about half a quart low), and for a week it only made this noise if I waited more than 24 hours. Now it will do it after sitting for about 4 hours. Based on other posts people say it could be VTC sprockets or timing chain tensioner, and I guess I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and has any insight. I would really appreciate any and all help. I have videos attached showing the noise. For the one with the hood open, the noise stopped when the video stopped it did not continue.

Hello. I am using synthetic valvoline 5w-30 (Which I have heard is ****) and a mobil 1 filter. Planning on switching to synthetic mobil 1 5w-30 and an OEM filter, but I am just waiting on the filter to ship. Car had conventional 5w-30 in it last cycle that a place put in, but I changed it last time and used synthetic because that is what I have heard others use. Any recommendations? Also I did not hear the noise today, it is about 20 degrees warmer than other days outside.
