Still need the reservoir in the loop. The breather helps to remove air as the system cycles. Have only seen a few vqs running the tank. You'll need to tap the lower radiator hose as well.

yepp i have the tee fitting for the lower rad hose. so i wanted to move the stock overflow down in behind the bumper where the washer fluid originally goes and put the breather tank in place of the stock overflow is that fine?

also there are 4 connections to the tank

1 bottom one to the lower rad hose
1 goes to the stock overflow
1 goes to the top of the rad
and the 4 shows it goin to the cylinder head in the greddy diagram but ive seen most installs from other motors that one is capped?

They provide a fitting that should thread into the purge port of the hose coming from the heater core. You need to tap into the highest point of the cooling system so air pockets bubbles can be removed.

The radiator cap needs to be swapped with the one that came with the breather tank.

not fully understanding the rad cap swap?

so the cap that comes from greddy goes on my aluminum rad and the 1.3 cap from the rad now goes on the breather tank

whats the reason for this?

now i really dont get the cap swap because they dont fit the 1.3 cap wont go down enough on the breather tank to turn it closed

increasing the pressure of the rad cap allows the boiling point to increase with increased pressure on the system.

In order for the breather tank to work properly you need to have the pressures right.

so then the dummy cap does go on the rad and the 1.3 psi cap now goes on the breather tank

anyone here using a breather tank and have swapped the caps i just finished my setup qith the ams aluminum rad breather tank and now mishimoto aluminum fan shroud.

i let the car idle to bleed the system and temperatures are staying where they should be fan is kicking on to but im having steam coming from the dummy cap on my rad it was alot at first then after about an hour idling it became less and less, is this normal is it kinda bleeding the air out of the rad itself?
