Which plenum is Strictly Z selling?

I was just curious about who's plenum Strictly Z is selling. Who is the manufacturer? or is it their own?

Re: Which plenum is Strictly Z selling?

Just guessing here, but with the $500 price and the $200 core fee, it sounds like (and looks like) an old add for the Crawford Plenum (what ever they sold before the V5).

According to my conversation with Doug at crawfordzcar.com they sold a V2, had 2 non-selling iterations then dubbed the name of the latest plenum the V5.

Take a look at the Cats, they look like Crawford's also. I believe Crawford and Strictly Z had a deal at one time, that has since expired. I have not asked Doug Stewart (of Crawford) about this. But, that's just my opinion.

BTW, the Cat pictured is a V1 (not sold for very long) not a V2. The V1 had the 6 bumps, from the stock plenum, not the smoothed off rear that the V2 had.

That one is most likely the Crawford plenum. Kyle said that soon he will be carrying a new plenum by a different manufacturer that is a completely new casting that is raised in the front. It's going to be cheaper than a Crawford and will not require a core charge.

Re: Which plenum is Strictly Z selling?

OK, I may sound crazy, but has anyone ever dyno'd a car with a different plenum on it? I just removed my Crawford plenum and saw the inside of the upper intake area and I can't imagine how the plenum helps at all. The upper intake manifold has 6 cylinders running down into the engine, 3 on the left, 3 on the right. the 3 cylinders on each side join into a common recessed area right in the middle of the manifold. All thee cylinders actually get their air from the same part of the plenum...

Strange.... maybe someone can explain to me how it works, until then I'll just be happy mine looks pretty, if nothing else...

That's interesting, who's selling the Kinetix? It's cheaper than the Crawford right? Any problems with cracking in the latest version?

Re: Which plenum is Strictly Z selling?

Right now we carry the Crawford.

The picture on the site is an old one. =/
However, they have been on backorder for awhile. Unless your willing to pull yours and send it in.

Soon we will be selling the APS plenum. However It's not due to be released until November. The good thing on those is that you will not need a core exchange and the pricing is scheduled to be around $375 ..

Hope that helps
Kyle
