Stillen SC self-install?

Has anyone installed the Stage 1 themselves? If I go this route, I dont think I will go intercooled with all the extra expense and effort for 12 more RWHP. Doesn't look like much to do mechanically (compared to TT), but how is the ECU side. Is it a bitch to get to the electricals?

Re: Stillen SC self-install?

its the fact that the intercooler cools the S/C. Stillen's intercooler isnt really there for performance gains, its there to cool the car alot better. I think its well worth it.
Stillen's intercooler is a water cooler, more like a second radiator.

Re: Stillen SC self-install?

So how do you like it? If you dont mind me asking, what was the "out the door" price for SC kit, hood (painting included), and install? Called Stillen today and asked about the warrantee. $250 for a 36000 mile coverage from time of install is not bad at all.

I'm going to wait until I'm out of original warrantee (60000 miles) to go FI. Got 41200 now and she runs better than new. I swear this engine takes 40000 miles to fully break in using M1 5/30 since 2500 miles. Keeps getting faster and smoother every day. Amazing car for the money. But they can keep the '05's. From what I've seen so far, I think the interior stinks. And the 277 HP rating is just a few degrees of advance and was just done as a numbers game to compete with the Acura TL (A nice car, but still a FWD joke, not a true drivers car).

Re: Stillen SC self-install?

Normal 'out the door' price is about 8500 bucks for the complete job. that's the hood, bumper, S/C, spark plugs, and installation
