Could be that the thermostat is out, air in coolant system or fans have failed.

One way is to take it out, place in a pot of water at about 170 degrees and then raise the heat up watching to see if it opens and closes. Often times you will have about a 10 degree range of 180-190 degrees.

Or...............just by a new one if you suspect a possible issue and since you already took everything apart you already did all the labor so just replace it. Burb the system of air and cross your fingers.

Anything change lately?

Thermostat, water pump, fans or air in the system.

I'd start with the thermostat.

Do you have a mechanical or dual electric fans?

Its probably your thermostat. GeoBau's thermostat cracked on him a few months ago and his car was experiencing the same symptoms. I would replace it.

Why would you trust a generic mechanic instead of using a trained certified technican who works on nothing but Nissans every day?

Even a Ferrari technican could be at a loss on Infiniti.
