Rack & Pinion still leaking after repair?
I recently had my Rack & Pinion replaced because it was leaking power steering fluid everywhere and it smelled REALLY bad.
I replaced it just two days ago, and the mechanic told me he suspects it is still leaking old oil. It's been two days since the repair, and it seems to still be leaking and smelling awful. I put a cardboard under the box to catch the spill and it is still leaking (At the same speed as before) This was not a cheap fix either so I'm wondering why it wasn't fixed when the part was replaced..
Anyone had experiences w/ this and if it is supposed to leak a bit after the repair?
Going to take it back to him tomorrow but want some opinions to go to him with.
Thanks!

Why did you pay for it if it wasn't fixed??!?!?!
was it replaced with a new unit? if so, it wasn't installed correctly or else its not leaking from that. Could be a leaking line. That gets my vote.

Well the problem is fixed as far as I could tell now. Seems the dealer gave my mechanic a faulty rebuilt one and they returned for another one and it hasn't leaked since.
