User servicable fuel filter on G35?

06 G35x..is there a replaceable fuel filter?

I've never seen one mentioned as DIY maintainence, so i want to say no.

In that case, what means did nissan go with in order to feed clean fuel to the engine??

not a serviceable filter...5AT tranny doesn't have a serviceable filter either

no idea, but I think the filter is designed to last a long time (200K miles) so they didn't consider it a "replaceable/wear" item

the fuel filter is in the fuel pump assembly (under back seat)... it's not a normally serviceable part... removal looks to be a pita - starts on page FL-4 in FSM.

of course anything is replaceable, but the AT and the fuel filters are not "replaceable" filters like you would find on other cars

^^^ there is a DIY for an add-on AT filter that is replaceable...

but yes, as OEM they are not "serviceable" parts.... not intended for PM (preventative maintenance) replacement/servicing.

you're talking about an "in-line" filter right? Ya, pretty straight forward for that but thats completely different than the stock filter

um.... I made it pretty clear every post that although there is no "OEM" filter - there is "DIY" AT filter... I'd say that's different than a stock filter - kudos for picking up on that.

FYI - "DIY" in this case is like the "DIY" oil catch can... we all know there is no OEM oil catch can - so it's generally understood that the "DIY" version is not stock.

thats not very clear...hence the reason i am still in this thread...not everyone knows that the OEM filters are not serviceable (the reason for the start of this thread)

OP was talking about the stock filters, which is what I was talking about.

I'm pretty sure it was made clear several posts ago that there is no OEM filter for the trans... and no serviceable fuel filter. It was quite clear in fact - in several posts...

Just my experience. I replaced the fuel filter in my old 3.0 VQ (same location on the fuel pump assembly in the tank under the backseat) and it was caked with sediment at 50k. I only used top tier 93 octane in that car as well. I think most people around here would not leave their plugs in for 100k miles, especially in aluminum heads so why leave a fuel filter in that long.

Nissan says the plugs are good until 100k, same as the fuel filter. I believe I saw a reference on courtesy Nissan that said the fuel filter in the Z should be replaced at 105k miles. I plan to replace the fuel filter or strainer at or around 60k. It is a filter, its going to get dirty.

As for the auto trans, the screen in the pan can be cleaned with brake parts cleaner and needs no replacement unless the mesh is torn.
