Complex Code Failure G35 2003 SEDAN

Complex Code Failure G35 2003 SEDAN
(SEDAN G35 2003 A/T- 131,000 miles)

Incident: A couple days ago I was testing the car on the high way. Cruising at 45mph I fully depressed the accel pedal and 2 seconds later the car lost power and the VDC OFF, SLIP and SES lights turned on.

Symptoms: Now the car wont pass 2000 rpms and there is strong fuel smell when the engine is running. (OFF NOTE: The car was running in perfect condition before the incident, no instrument lights indications, nothing)

The codes as the appear in descending order(AutoZone scan)
:
P1122
P0102
P0223
P1224
P0221

Any ideas?

Cant' really commet on the codes directly but not reving past 2000 rpm is a sign that the ecu is now in limp mode. Could try reseting the ecu to erase the codes.

i was going to try to find the codes individually but ran into this thread .. check it out ..

it lists all codes .. scan through and find your codes ..
http://www.6mt.net/forum/g35-sedan/5...how-clear.html

Clearing Codes

If using a scan tool, follow tool manufacturer’s instructions to clear Codes. Or, use a small screwdriver to turn the diagnostic mode selector switch, located on the side of the ECM/ECU, fully clockwise. After waiting two seconds, rotate the switch to the full counterclockwise position. The diagnosis will end and memory will then be cleared.

Good list for codes but there is not diagnostics screw to turn. Only OBD-I Nissan ecus had something like that.

Sounds like the throttle body has taken a dump.

Looks like a MAF error. All sorts of Mass Airflow Sensor errors which will relate to the Throttle Body. It is possible that both could be bad, but I would start with the MAF first. Especially since you can drive...TB seems operational it just won't function properly unless its getting the right signal from the MAF.

Bad MAF causes VDC, SLIP, ABS lights and throws you into limp mode. Also, very very rough idle if i recall correctly.

MAF and Throttle Body are my two guesses in that order.

Guys thanks for the help.
It is just very strange that all this suddenly happened !!!at the same time!!! I can’t believe the MAF and all other electrical components are just GONE!!!!
Tomorrow I’ll be cleaning the MAF and Throttle Body, plus anything suspicious. I’ll be back with the findings. This is outrageous, especially in Christmas where I need the money for presents…J

If you touch the TB, don't disconnect the plug. I'd actually leave it be for now.

^^^what??????

If you clean the TB and move the plate - you do want to disconnect the actuator...

disconnect neg bat terminal, then unplug TB then clean away.

Not unplugging will likely result in erratic idle. (from experience Jeff, not misinterpreting forum research as common for some people).

I cleaned my TB, moved the plate w/o disconnecting it. No problems here.

Point being, it's very unlikely that a dirty tb would cause this sudden problem so introducing another varible via doing an unecessary procedure is unwise. ONE change at a time Mike. This is how people that actually work on their cars do it.

Jeff notes that Mike is getting personal and OT all at the same time AGAIN.

several of those codes are throttle position sensor... your TB might be fubar'd... best bet, clean as you intended (cant hurt it any further if it's ruined already)... and do the full throttle position re-learn procedure:

might as well do this re-learn procedure too:
