New BMC Carbon Airbox

Though I'm a bit skeptical of the potential gains of aftermarket air intakes for the 350z/G35, this new airbox from BMC for the 350z looks interesting. I've always liked the designs and engineering from BMC (especially their Carbon Dynamic Airbox) and this looks to be a great alternative to other CAIs. It's a high-flow design, and gets its air from the same source as OEM I believe, so you should get some of the "ram-air" effect and safety from hydro-lock. I'm thinking that it might not be that difficult to adapt to the existing 'Power Duct' and air scoop of the G35 if the box isn't too long. Of course, asking BMC to make a custom set-up for the G35 might work as well.

Again, not sure about any gains to be had out of this set-up, but for those that believe there are gains to be had from the intake, this might be worth some consideration.

nice. it seems similar to the Gruppe M design. Any idea of cost?

No idea. I've asked the distributor to look into it for me. It's a brand new application (for the Z).

Pricing looks to be ~ $310 USD. How much is the Gruppe M intake?

around $800 if I'm not mistaken...

a G specific design wouldn't be a bad idea... I'd be a taker...
