Exclamation CEL's

So I did my motor swap just stock cuz I blew min. So the new one came up with check engine lights saying vvt was off and cam position sensors. Does that mean my cams are bad or just the sensors?

Also I live in new mexico and the motor came from cali so I don't know if timing is pulled on that motor or not but I figured the ecu was all that controlled that so I'm not sure what to do

Just the sensors. Check the actual connector because the connectors suc. If not try replacing the sensor, take it off your old motor is like a 2 sec swap.

One fault at a time bro. Fixing that one issue might solve two problems.

+1. Those are both related: vvt (variable valve timing) and cam sensors. Very likely could fix both with just the sensors.

just pull the sensors and swap them. Your cams are not going to be the problem. I am 99% certain of that. They don't really go bad. Its the sensors. If you took those off to clean them you shouldn't have any trouble replacing them either.
