Cold-air Intake - Car washes

Is it "safe" to run my G through a car wash now that I installed an Injen CAI?

i always just pay the extra 5 and go to a hand wash, you can easily get a hand wash here for 10 bucks

LOL, when your going through the car wash your car is in neutral, the only way you can suck in water and hydrolock your engine is if your pressing the gas pedal and going above 3k rpm where the intake is then open, also your car would have to be submerged in water or the intake filter to really "hydrolock" your engine. Nothing will happen ive had mine for a year through rainstorms, winter, summer and everything with no problem.

Re: Cold-air Intake - Car washes

Your engine would have to suck up a column of water through the intake to induce hydrolock, from total submersion in standing water. Unless the car wash dunks your car in a giant tub of rinse water, you have nothing to worry about.

Don't subject your G to an automatic carwash... that's abuse.

yeah $10 for a DIY but i figure that 10 bucks is worth more than a hospital visit for frost bite here with the Chicago winters.
