does anyone have any recommendations as to what kind of brake pads to put on the car to replace the oem?

could any after market pads be better than the oem? i have a 6mt with brembo callipers so they should put on brembo pads right?

if anyone has info please let me know.

Re: brake pads

I think a search will pull up the hawk pads or some "greenstuff" pads. Look at tirerack for the greenstuff. Supposedly much less brake dust, and only marginally worse stopping distance. Those pads work just fine with our brembo calipers.

Re: brake pads

The problem with oem pads is they must work cold as well as hot to pass government test requirements.

Aftermarkets are not tested so they can shift the friction up in tempature range and not worry about cold [under 200F] on the street stopping.

What temperature rotors do you want to optimize. Can'y have cake and eat it too!

Re: brake pads

Check out Brake Pros http://www.stillen.com/brakepros_pro...pe=0&ClassID=1

The Hawk HPS pads are only for track use because street driving does not generate the necessary temperatures for them to work properly per Stillen. The Metal Matrix is for street use. Verify with Stillen before deciding.

Re: brake pads

I put the EBC Double H sintered pads and pro-lite rotors on my BMW K1200 bike and they blow away the stock Brembo stuff that it came with. I have used the green stuff pads on my old vette and they are very good too, but they have some new ones called red stuff designed for imports including Skyline. Call them and see what they think about your setup.
