Please take plenty of pictures with the engine torn apart. I'd love to see side by side photos of the new vs. old components.

In Theory, practice and theory are the same.

Clint, LMAO!

I will indeed take lots of pics... if I can. It may be that I will just be doing a core swap... but we'll see

It will indeed have over 500 wheel hp, I am hoping that at the top of it's boost capability given my custom compression ratio of 9.3 (around 18psi), it will be in the mid 500's. I think this is reasonable. Maybe more, maybe less. We'll see...

500 HP through an auto tranny? are you going to replace the stock one or just wait a few months and replace it when it dies on you?

I ordered the pistons and rods too in the group buy, I can't wait to get home to and see if they are there! My goal is 550rwhp, with 16psi of supercharged boost... may be a bit high, but goals are good to have. I have a 6mt, but I have a spare 5AT to sell to the first person who blows one up!

KEvin

Haha, i maybe acustomer... But, if my tranny gives out, which I do not think will necessarily happen (i think and was told by some reliable people that it is stronger than), you are the man i am calling.

If the tranny does give out, I may do an MT conversion. We'll see. Either way, it will be after if/when it gioves out.

Yeah I've been told the AT is rock solid, but I've also been told that FI is will be death to the ATs. We'll have to wait and see. The only reason I have it is because the guy I bought my 2nd motor from was selling them as a pair and didn't want to separate them. Now its collecting dust in my garage!

Re: Got my new toys.... (well, some of them)

Whoa! 500 HP!? That's nuts and awesome at the same time. That's friggen VIPER territory... This won't be a conventional application. What FI system do you plan to use? Don't tell me, you chose 18 psig because it's in the (island) sweet spot for the compressor. LOL!

Kevin...

I was told that FI is death to the ATs if you do not manage the heat. I guess this is all conjecture... we'll have to see. I guess I'll be the guinea pig for this also....

Re: Got my new toys.... (well, some of them)

Hydrazine....

You hit the nail on the net... Now you can also guess why I went with 9.3 CR pistons and not 8.5. At 18psi at this CR, I will be achieving the same final compression as the 8.5:1 pistons at 22 psi, while still maintaining a far superior low end, off-boost response. What I will absolutely not be able to do is boost over 20 psi, at which point my turbos are not efficient anyway....
