I'm having a really hard time believing that it will take 18psi on a built motor to reach 500rwhp.

Right ON! Good to see you are dialing in your system like an obsessive compulsive engineer! It's the only real way to mod a G! =D

In Theory, practice and theory are the same.

Steve

It will probably take around 1 bar to reach 500 pretty easy (on this compression), 18psi WILL imo get you over 550 and near 600. I think I am being pretty conservative with the numbers here, given that my compression ratio is on the aggressive side.

Gurgen....Did you have a lsd and swap it out for a VLSD ? Or did you have a open rear end and changed it out for a VLSD ? I got an open rear end , AT5. And Im wondering what it takes to go to VLSD and 3.5 ring and pinion from a MT6

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Re: Got my new toys.... (well, some of them)

depends on what he ate the night before. good luck dude. don't neglect that tranny. cooling, cooling, cooling, higher line pressure (i.e. shift kit you need a VERY aggressive kit). I feel for that tranny however. do you have a finned differential cover yet? they make em, you need one, buy it now. the diff is going to be generating a lot of heat as well

with the premium package you have a/c going to the rear of the center console. perhaps you could cut one and send the air into the tranny hump underneath the car to remove some more heat?

you are going to need some seriously innovative ideas to keep that tranny cool at that power level.

I give your tranny 1.5 to two years at the most even with a "bulletproof" level 10 tranny rebuild.

Re: Got my new toys.... (well, some of them)

Anyone know what the stock block will handle? Being open deck, I'm a bit concerened but I haven't seen any data or experiences anyone has had with this. Are you doing anything to address it. The only solution I've seen so far is teh Stroker/Sleeve kit from AEBS, but it should be possible to beef it up plenty with a block guard like the Honda guys use. Though I'm not sure if that is available for the VQ either.

Just throw in a greddy T78 and run 30lbs. Or better yet a T88 and run 40lbs. Veilside did it, no big deal right?
