Idle Trouble and DTC codes
Idle Trouble and DTC codes
I have a 2003.5 6mt sedan. Yesterday leaving work, my car died as I was pulling to a stop sign and my engine died. I was able to start it back up with some difficulty and the SES light stayed on. I pulled over to the side of the road and checked all my fluid levels and all were fine. I decided to continue home with my boss following me. The engine died several more times in a similar conditions. I took the car to get the codes pulled today and came back with 5 codes, 3 of which were labeled pending. The codes were P0011, P0021, P0300, P0340 and P0345.
P0011 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)
P0021 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 2)
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected (PENDING)
P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PENDING)
P0345 - Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2) (PENDING)
I just changed the oil and spark plugs 2 weeks ago. The engine has ~101000 miles on it. I also added some engine restorer the day before this started but i experienced no issues on my way to work. Ambient air in morning was around 60, and 86 on my way home. My commute is about an hour long.
Any input is appreciated.

It's your camshaft position sensor causing all of that..needs to be replaced. A good search would've led you here https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...y-version.html
Had this happen to me a few weeks ago. Changed camshaft sensor and now it's resolved. You and I have similar mileage on our cars. I'm at 110k now on my 2006 sedan. Seems to be a very common problem after 100k miles.
