Oil Analysis - first 2600 miles on the turbos...

Hey Guys... got this a while ago. I guess my bearing wear too fast with this oil. Trying 15w50 now... will see what happens....

Boss...
If I read your report correctly the oil 15W-50 is what the report says you're currently running. Do you plan on going to a "thinner" or "thicker" oil? Just curious...

Yes, the oil weights contradict one another.
A couple of the tubo cars I've owned had later moved their recommended oil weights to 0W30 or 0W40, and synthetic. This was because they found that the thinner oil was better for circulation through the oil lines and it was better for cold/cool startups. Better/bigger oil lines and oil circulation through the turbos might not make that a big deal--depends on your oil lines and type of turbo that you're running. Just my 2 cents.

THer is no contradiction

10w30 was used initially, then to top it off later (about 1 qt), 15w50 was added. It says so in the comments. However, I would definitley not run 0w30 or 0w40; the latter has VII which is the root of many problems with turbos.

15w50 was an overkill.... I agree. Going back to 5w30 or 10w30.
